Vintage Duck Decoy

This handsome duck decoy is made of cork with a wood weight on the underside and includes a tie anchor weight. It has lovely hand painted detail on the wood swivel head and beautiful glass eyes making it a must-have for any collector. This piece is a stunning statement of found decor and would be a wonderful gift for any hunter or outdoor enthusiast. It’s the collectible you didn’t know you needed but can’t live without. The kind of piece that looks as if it has always been with you and your home isn’t complete without.

The wood has either the maker or owner’s name carved into it - Whittington. Decoy was sourced in the Blue Ridge Mountains area of Fancy Gap VA.

This decoy does show signs of loving use. There are some scratches to the wood base, and of course the natural chippy look of cork as well as some worn paint that all adds to the overall vintage charm of this piece. True age of the item is not known, but it is before 1990 based on research of cork duck decoys and when they were in fashion.
